Listing rules: what is allowed
CompraPostea works because neighbors can trust what they find here. These rules apply to every listing type — goods, services, jobs, vehicles, and community events. Posting means you agree to them.
Prohibited items
These listings are removed and repeat posts can close an account.
- Weapons, ammunition, and anything designed to cause harm.
- Drugs, prescription medicine, and drug paraphernalia.
- Alcohol, tobacco, vapes, and cannabis products.
- Live animals sold as goods — rehoming posts belong in community groups.
- Recalled products, recalled child car seats, and expired safety gear.
- Gift cards, tickets, and digital accounts sold outside official channels.
- Government documents, license plates, and anything requiring a license transfer.
- Adult content and services.
Counterfeit and stolen goods
Authenticity matters to buyers and to the brands you resell.
- No replica, counterfeit, or “inspired by” branded goods presented as genuine.
- Describe replicas honestly or do not list them at all.
- Serial numbers and original packaging should be shown when you have them.
- You must own the item and be able to hand it over — no drop-shipping from unverified suppliers.
- Listings that look like a stolen-item pattern (no charger, no paperwork, no history) are reported to moderators.
Scams and fraud
Most lost money starts with someone moving the conversation off-platform.
- Never ask a buyer to pay a deposit before seeing the item.
- No wire transfers, gift cards, crypto, or money orders as payment.
- Do not ask for shipping on a local-pickup listing, or for a “holding fee”.
- Ignore overpayment offers and requests to refund the difference.
- Keep conversations in CompraPostea messages so moderators can see what happened.
- Report anyone who asks you to send codes, bank details, or to move to another app immediately.
Unsafe or unlawful listings
Some categories carry legal requirements or real physical risk.
- No stolen property, no items you cannot legally sell, and no services you are not licensed to perform.
- Electrical, gas, roofing, and structural work must be performed by licensed trades.
- Medical, legal, and financial services must state credentials honestly.
- Firearms services, towing without a permit, and unlicensed childcare are not allowed.
- Anything requiring a background check or a permit must say so in the description.
Services and jobs
Service and job posts use their own fields, not product fields.
- Say where you work and how far you travel — that is what buyers filter on.
- Jobs must name the employer, the type of work, and a real pay range or hourly rate.
- No commission-only roles hidden behind a salary range.
- No recruiting fees, training fees, or “pay to start” job offers.
- No multi-level marketing recruitment, and no posts that require buying a starter kit.
Reporting and moderation
- Every listing has a Report link with a reason: scam, prohibited item, counterfeit, misleading, harassment, safety, or other.
- Reports go to the moderation queue. Moderators can remove a listing, restore it if it was flagged by mistake, or mark it sold.
- Repeat offences pause the account's ability to post, and confirmed scams close it.
- Under a suspected counterfeit or vehicle fraud report, the listing status changes to pending review and it stops appearing in search.
- Save your messages and photos until a report is resolved — they are the evidence a moderator reviews.
