Your data
Privacy policy
Last updated November 4, 2026
CompraPostea is a local marketplace, so some of what you post is meant to be public — your listings and your display name. Everything else, especially your messages and your email, is not. This page explains exactly where the line sits.
What we collect
We only collect what the product needs to work:
- Account details: your email address and password (stored by our authentication provider), plus your name and role.
- Profile details you add: display name, profile photo, bio, city, state, ZIP, account type, and your contact preferences.
- What you post: listings, photos, prices, vehicle details, posts, comments, reactions, group memberships, reports, favorites, saved searches and blocks.
- Messages: the text you send to another member, kept between the two of you.
- Technical data from our hosting provider, such as request logs and error reports, used to keep the service running and secure.
What other people can see
Public pages show your display name, profile photo, city, listings, public posts and the groups you belong to. Your email address is never shown on your profile.
Private by default: your messages, your reports, your blocked list, your saved searches and your favorites.
Your phone number and contact email appear only if you choose a phone or email contact preference on a listing. A vehicle's VIN is hidden unless you switch on “show VIN”, and buyers see that a VIN exists without seeing the number.
Dealerships publish business contact details on purpose. If you operate a dealership profile, those details are public.
Cookies and local storage
Essential: a session cookie keeps you signed in, and your chosen area, filter and cookie choice are kept in your browser's local storage so the site opens the way you left it.
Optional analytics and advertising cookies are off until you accept them in the cookie banner. If you accept, your choice is reported to any analytics or advertising tool the site uses so those tools respect it; if you later decline, we stop using them and the banner records the change.
You can reopen the banner any time from “Cookie settings” in the footer.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that run the app: our hosting, database and authentication provider, our file storage for listing photos, and our email provider for account and notification messages. They process it for us to deliver the service.
We may disclose data if the law requires it, or to investigate fraud, threats or illegal activity on the platform.
If you contact another member, you are choosing to share that conversation with them. We cannot remove what another person has already read or photographed.
How long we keep it
Listings, posts, comments and messages stay until you delete them or your account. Deleting a listing removes it from public view.
Moderation records (a report, a removal, a suspension and the reason given) are kept after the action so decisions can be reviewed and repeat abuse can be recognized.
When you delete your account, your profile and content are removed from the app; moderation records that reference you are kept in a minimized form for audit and legal defense.
Your choices and rights
Edit or remove individual items yourself: profile from Account settings, listings from your seller dashboard, posts and comments from the post menu, and messages within a conversation.
Delete your whole account from Account settings → Delete account. If you need a copy of your data, a correction, or a deletion you cannot complete yourself, submit the request from that same account so we can match it to you, and we will act within 30 days.
Block anyone from their profile to stop them messaging you or appearing in your feed.
Children
CompraPostea is not for anyone under 13, and you must be 18 or older to post a vehicle, a job or a service. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 13, we remove it.
Security and changes
Access to records is controlled by server-side rules, not just by the interface: a member cannot read another member's messages, reports or private account data, and moderation tools are restricted to administrators.
No system is perfect. If you think your account is compromised, change your password and report the account through the Report button.
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, we update this page and its date, and tell signed-in members in the app.
